Course information
SCOPE

The schedule for Montessori primary teacher training, ages 3-6, includes comprehensive lectures applicable to the fundamental parts of Dr. Montessori's philosophy and concerning children education and up-bringing. The studies include presentations of and exercises with special material, observation and student teaching in Montessori pre-schools under the guidance of AMI trained teachers.
The material includes Practical Life exercises, Senses Training Material, Mathematics and Language which include the spoken, the written and the read aspects of the language. Furthermore, Culture (geography, history, biology, science, music and art) is introduced.
SCHOOL LOCATION

This AMI education program is held at the beautiful Bokskogens Montessoriförskola in Dalby outside of Lund.
PREREQUISITES

High school degree. Knowledge in English equivalent to English B.
Vocational education (pre-school teacher, grade school teacher, doctor, nurse, recreational pedagogue, behavioural scientist, etc.) is recommended.
Practical experience in a well established Montessori pre-school is looked upon as valuable experience.
INSTRUCTOR

Ulla Wikefeldt. AMI Trainer Ulla Wikefeldt has during the past 15 years been responsible for the AMI education of Montessori teachers for ages 3-6 for the Institution of Teacher Education, Uppsala University in Uppsala, Sweden.
Ulla has 30 years experience within Montessori:
  • Montessori teacher and manager with Montessori pre-school for 10 years
  • lecturer, nationally and internationally
  • AMI's examiner in Europe, Asia and the USA.
  • In addition to a BA in education, AMI Montessori Teacher Training, Ulla has also completed AMI's 4 year methodology teacher training for ages 3-6

REGISTRATION

Registration is completed when the registration fee (2.500:- SEK including 25% VAT) is deposited directly to the Handelsbanken, Mörby C, Danderyd bankgiro account 5369-3941 or to Plusgiro account 32 39 60-5 and the registration form is complete and sent to the address supplied on the registration form is complete and sent to the address supplied on the form.
Course registration confirmation will be received within 14 days after receipt of the registration form and fee has been deposited.

NAMEX (Nationell Montessorispecialistexamen)

The qualifications for receiving a NAMEX certificate are included as a part of this education.
From 24 June, 2002, this is the only AMI Education program in Sweden.
